As the Independence Day celebrations approach, Southwest Airlines is drawing attention with its patriotic Boeing 737 MAX 8 known as “Independence One.” The aircraft features a striking red, white, and blue livery honoring America’s upcoming 250th anniversary.
Registered N1776R, the jet showcases “1776” in elegant quill-style lettering, the phrase “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” and 13 stars representing the original American colonies.
Other U.S. airlines are also marking the historic milestone. United Airlines has introduced special “Stars and Stripes” aircraft, American Airlines has added commemorative “250” decals, JetBlue continues flying its veteran-themed “Vets in Blue” aircraft, and Delta Air Lines has unveiled a special anniversary decal on one of its Boeing 757 jets.
Among them, Southwest’s “Independence One” stands out as a tribute to American history and aviation, carrying a patriotic design across the skies ahead of the nation’s landmark celebration.
