Hundreds of passengers at Pune Airport faced a long and frustrating wait after SpiceJet’s Delhi-bound flight SG 937, scheduled to depart at 5:55 am on Tuesday, was delayed for several hours. The flight eventually took off around 5:19 pm, nearly 12 hours after its scheduled departure.
Passengers said they were repeatedly asked to wait as airline staff cited technical issues with the aircraft that had arrived from Dubai. Travellers also complained that they were not given a clear departure time or confirmation about whether an alternative aircraft would be arranged.
The prolonged delay disrupted passengers’ travel plans and caused growing frustration at the airport. Some passengers also alleged that adequate refreshments were not provided during the lengthy wait. A video showing an argument between passengers and airline staff also surfaced.
The incident has once again raised concerns over timely communication and passenger assistance during major flight disruptions, with travellers expecting clearer updates and better arrangements from airlines.
