SpiceJet Passenger Slams Airline for 2-Hour Wait Due to Fog.

A SpiceJet passenger has criticized the airline for its poor handling of a flight delay caused by dense fog at Delhi airport on Friday morning. Pratyush Rawat, a passenger on the flight from Delhi to Kolkata, shared his frustration on social media after being made to wait inside the aircraft for over two hours. The flight, scheduled for an early departure, was delayed due to thick fog that had reduced visibility at the airport.

Rawat expressed his anger, accusing SpiceJet of “sheer mismanagement” for allowing passengers to board the plane despite knowing that the flight would not be able to take off. He particularly highlighted the inconvenience caused to passengers, including himself, as he was traveling with an infant on his lap. The delay, he pointed out, was exacerbated by the discomfort of waiting for hours in the confined space of the aircraft, with no clear communication from the airline regarding the situation.

This incident has raised concerns about the airline’s handling of flight delays, especially in challenging weather conditions like fog. Passengers have voiced their dissatisfaction with the lack of communication and the prolonged wait inside the aircraft, which could have been avoided with better management. The incident adds to ongoing frustrations with flight delays at Delhi airport, one of the busiest airports in India, especially during the winter months when fog is a common issue.

While dense fog often leads to delays and cancellations, airlines are expected to ensure that passengers are informed promptly and treated with consideration, particularly in cases involving young children or other vulnerable passengers. This episode underscores the importance of better communication and handling during such delays to improve passenger experience.
