Sun Country Airlines has introduced a special retro-liveried Boeing 737-8F2, registered as N826SY, bringing back the airline’s classic 1994-era design with a modern touch. The aircraft combines the carrier’s vintage color scheme with its current tail logo, creating a unique blend of old and new branding.
The Boeing 737, carrying manufacturer serial number 34411, officially entered commercial service on the Minneapolis–Los Angeles route. The retro-themed aircraft celebrates the airline’s history while highlighting its continued presence in the U.S. aviation market.
The unveiling comes during a significant period for the airline industry, as Allegiant Air moves forward with its planned takeover of Sun Country Airlines. Aviation enthusiasts and passengers have already shown strong interest in the nostalgic aircraft design, which reflects the airline’s early identity from the mid-1990s.
Sun Country has not announced whether additional retro liveries will join the fleet, but the launch of N826SY has generated excitement among frequent travelers and aviation fans alike. The aircraft is expected to continue operating on select domestic routes across the airline’s network.
