Tamil Nadu Plans Airports in Hosur, Parandur, Boosts Connectivity .

The Tamil Nadu government is preparing to build a greenfield airport in Hosur, strategically located near Bengaluru, to enhance connectivity in the region. As part of the ongoing push for better air travel infrastructure, the Centre is expected to grant approval for another major airport project in Parandur, Tamil Nadu. This approval is seen as a crucial step towards improving regional connectivity, providing more options for travelers in southern India, and reducing pressure on the already congested airports in nearby cities like Bengaluru.

In addition to the Parandur project, the Centre is reportedly considering granting clearances for two other greenfield airports in different states—one in Kota, Rajasthan, and another in Puri, Odisha. These projects are in line with the government’s aim to develop new airports in areas with high growth potential, allowing for better access to remote or underserved regions. The development of such airports is expected to boost economic activity, create jobs, and improve overall connectivity within the country, especially for domestic travelers. The Hosur and Parandur airports are seen as key developments in the southern part of India, where air travel demand is steadily increasing. The strategic location of these airports, close to major cities like Bengaluru and Chennai, is likely to attract significant attention from both travelers and the aviation industry. These airports will not only ease congestion at existing airports but also stimulate regional growth by providing better access for businesses and tourists. As the approval process for these airports moves forward, there is growing anticipation about the positive impact on the local economy and infrastructure.
