US Seeks $10 Billion for ATC Upgrade.

Sean Duffy has proposed $10 billion in funding to modernize the United States’ aging air traffic control system, aiming to reduce widespread flight disruptions and improve efficiency across the aviation network.

The funding request to Congress marks the next phase of a broader overhaul effort. Last year, lawmakers had already approved $12.5 billion to replace outdated systems and address staffing shortages at control towers nationwide.

A significant portion of the new investment will focus on developing advanced software to streamline air traffic management and enhance operational reliability. The initiative is expected to improve flight scheduling, reduce delays, and strengthen overall system performance.

The move underscores growing urgency to upgrade critical aviation infrastructure as travel demand continues to rise, placing increased pressure on existing air traffic systems.
