A 24-year-old woman recently fell victim to a fraudulent travel agent in Bengaluru, after being duped with a fake flight ticket. The woman, who was trying to board a SpiceJet flight to Ranchi, was issued a counterfeit ticket that appeared legitimate at first glance but was ultimately revealed to be fraudulent.

The ticket she received indicated it was for SpiceJet’s SG 320 flight to Ranchi, but there was no such flight scheduled at the specified time. The woman, unaware of the deception, proceeded to the Kempegowda International Airport, where she attempted to board the flight. However, upon checking the details at the airline counter, it was discovered that the flight did not exist, and the ticket was fraudulent.

After further investigation, authorities discovered that the woman had booked the ticket through a travel agent, who is now under suspicion for being involved in the scam. The victim had paid a significant amount for the ticket, believing it was valid, only to realize too late that she had been swindled.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, looking into the travel agent’s activities and how such frauds are being conducted. This case serves as a reminder for travelers to verify ticket information and use reputable sources when booking flights to avoid falling prey to such scams.

The woman has reported the incident to the police, and further action will be taken as the investigation progresses. Travelers are urged to be cautious when booking tickets through third-party agents and ensure that the flight details and airline information are correct before traveling.
