The Aviation Minister has unveiled a transformative initiative for Prayagraj, announcing the introduction of night landing facilities and direct flights to eight cities, significantly improving the region’s connectivity and accessibility. This development is set to address long-standing travel challenges faced by residents and visitors alike, positioning Prayagraj as a more connected and vibrant city.

Until now, Prayagraj had limited direct flight options, with services available only to Delhi and Bhubaneswar. However, starting January 10, Alliance Air will begin operating direct flights to six additional destinations, including Chandigarh, Kolkata, Dehradun, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Jabalpur. This move will create a robust air travel network, enabling easier and more efficient travel to key locations across the country. The night landing facility, another highlight of this initiative, will ensure seamless flight operations even during late hours, offering greater flexibility to airlines and passengers.

The new schedule, released by Alliance Air shortly after the Aviation Minister returned to Delhi from Prayagraj, reflects the airline’s readiness to expand its services. Last week, Alliance Air submitted a proposal to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), seeking approval to launch direct flights to these cities. The swift approval and release of the flight schedule underscore the government’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and boosting Prayagraj’s prominence on the aviation map.

The direct flights to cities like Guwahati, Jaipur, and Chandigarh are particularly significant as they cater to growing demand from business travelers, students, and tourists. Similarly, connections to Jabalpur and Dehradun will facilitate access to important industrial and spiritual hubs. The inclusion of Kolkata, a major metropolitan city, will further strengthen Prayagraj’s economic and cultural ties with eastern India.

The implementation of night landing facilities adds another layer of convenience, enabling airlines to operate on more flexible schedules and reducing delays caused by time restrictions. This advancement also marks a significant upgrade in Prayagraj’s airport infrastructure, making it more competitive with other regional airports across India.

The expansion of air services is expected to have a ripple effect on the local economy, encouraging tourism, trade, and investments. With improved connectivity, Prayagraj is poised to attract more business opportunities and visitors, contributing to its overall development. Residents will also benefit from shorter travel times and increased convenience, making these changes a win-win for all stakeholders.

This initiative by the Aviation Minister and Alliance Air demonstrates the government’s focus on enhancing regional air connectivity under the UDAN scheme and ensuring that smaller cities like Prayagraj are not left behind in India’s aviation growth story. The upcoming launch of these services marks a new chapter for Prayagraj, one that promises greater accessibility, economic growth, and a stronger connection to the rest of the country.
