Air India Express, a budget carrier and subsidiary of Air India, has announced a significant increase in its free check-in baggage allowance for international flights to the Middle East and Singapore. Starting Tuesday, the airline has raised the standard check-in baggage allowance to 30kg, along with a 7kg allowance for cabin baggage, providing more flexibility and comfort for passengers.
For parents traveling with infants, the airline offers an enhanced baggage allowance of up to 47kg, ensuring that families can carry everything they need without worrying about excess baggage fees. Additionally, passengers opting for Xpress Biz, Air India Express’ equivalent of Business Class seating, will benefit from an increase in their check-in baggage allowance from 30kg to 40kg.
This move is part of Air India Express’ strategy to offer more value to its customers, especially for long-haul international travel. The airline operates approximately 450 weekly flights between India and the Middle East, connecting 19 cities in India to 13 destinations in the region. It also operates 26 weekly flights between Singapore and three South Indian cities—Chennai, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli.
With this increased baggage allowance, Air India Express aims to enhance passenger satisfaction by offering more generous baggage limits while maintaining its competitive pricing. The airline’s expanded services and improved baggage policies reflect its commitment to catering to the growing demand for travel between India and key international destinations.
