The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has officially launched the Electronic Personnel Licence (EPL) services for the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) in New Delhi. The initiative marks a major step toward digitising India’s civil aviation regulatory ecosystem with secure, modern, and future-ready systems.

Digital Licence for Pilots:
The EPL provides a secure, electronic version of the ATPL, making it easier to issue, verify, and manage licences.

Enhanced Security:
EPL incorporates International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)-aligned security features, ensuring authenticity and preventing tampering.

Real-Time Verification:
Airlines and regulators can verify licences instantly, improving efficiency and safety in aviation operations.

Modernising Regulatory Processes:
The DGCA described the EPL as a key step in strengthening India’s civil aviation regulatory framework through technology.
