IndiGo will boost capacity on multiple international sectors from Northern Summer 2026 by deploying the larger Airbus A321neo on high-demand routes. The move targets stronger traffic markets while the airline simultaneously adjusts frequencies and trims select European services.

Bigger aircraft for busy routes
A321neo will replace Airbus A320neo on selected sectors to offer more seats and improved efficiency.

Major airports involved
Capacity upgrades will impact routes linked to Delhi Airport, Mumbai Airport, Kochi Airport, Guangzhou, Riyadh and Kuwait City.

Effective from 29 March 2026
Aircraft upgauge will begin with the summer schedule to match seasonal demand growth.

Europe routes see cuts
Frequency reductions are planned on London Heathrow Airport and Manchester Airport services from Delhi, while the Mumbai–Copenhagen Airport route faces cancellation.

Network optimisation strategy
The airline is reallocating capacity from weaker long-haul markets to stronger regional international sectors.

Higher seat supply, better unit costs
The larger aircraft will help lower per-seat costs and improve revenue potential on dense routes.
