The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), in collaboration with the Indian Navy, successfully tested the indigenous Air Droppable Container (ADC-150) from a P-8I aircraft off the coast of Goa between February 21 and March 1, 2026.

The tests included four in-flight release trials under extreme conditions, confirming that the ADC-150 can safely deliver critical supplies from aircraft to naval ships operating far out at sea. The system is designed to carry payloads of up to 150 kg, including medical supplies, technical equipment, food, and other emergency materials.

Developed by DRDO, the ADC-150 enhances the Navy’s operational capability by allowing aircraft to directly deliver essential materials to ships in remote oceanic areas, ensuring timely support during missions and emergencies.

The successful trials mark a significant step in India’s indigenous defence technology development and strengthen the collaboration between DRDO and the Indian Navy in modernising maritime logistics.
