Pegasus Airlines has completed its acquisition of Czech Airlines and the Smartwings Group after receiving the required regulatory approvals. The transaction, originally valued at €154 million, marks a major expansion of Pegasus’ presence across the European aviation market.

Following the deal, the enlarged group operates more than 175 aircraft, with firm orders for another 140 aircraft. Pegasus currently serves 161 destinations across 57 countries, while Smartwings connects 80 destinations in 20 countries and has a strong presence in the Central and Eastern European leisure market.

Smartwings will continue operating under both the Smartwings and Czech Airlines brands, while maintaining its existing operations and customer relationships.

Czech competition authorities approved the transaction with measures designed to protect competition on the Prague–Antalya route. With the acquisition now completed, Pegasus and its expanded group are entering a new phase of European growth.
