Air India, now under the Tata Group, has taken a major step to enhance passenger experience by selecting Panasonic Avionics for in-flight entertainment (IFE) maintenance. The agreement includes Panasonic Technical Services’ Total Care Package, aimed at ensuring reliable and high-quality entertainment systems across the airline’s growing fleet.
The deal will cover 74 aircraft, including advanced models such as the Boeing 787-9, Airbus A350-1000, Airbus A350-900, and Airbus A321neo. It also includes both Astrova and X Series systems under linefit and retrofit programs, ensuring passengers get a modern and seamless entertainment experience onboard.
In a separate development, Air India has welcomed its first retrofitted Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, registered as VT-ANT. The aircraft arrived in Delhi after undergoing a complete nose-to-tail cabin upgrade at Boeing’s Modification Center in Victorville, California, marking a key milestone in the airline’s fleet modernization plan.
This cabin refresh is part of Air India’s broader transformation strategy to upgrade interiors, improve comfort, and deliver a premium flying experience across all classes. With these upgrades and partnerships, the airline is steadily moving toward redefining its global standards.
