SkyNook Redefines Economy Class Comfort Experience.

Flying in economy class may soon feel very different. Long gone are the days when passengers had to sit upright in cramped seats for hours without comfort. Airlines and aviation companies are now focusing more on improving the travel experience, even for economy passengers.

In recent years, several innovations have been introduced to make flying more comfortable. From better seat designs to improved legroom and in-flight features, the goal is to reduce fatigue during long journeys. These changes show that comfort is no longer limited to business or first class.

At the 2026 Crystal Cabin Awards, one design stood out in the Passenger Comfort category. The winning concept, called “SkyNook,” has been developed by Collins Aerospace. It is specially designed for passengers seated in the last row of the aircraft, an area often considered the least comfortable.

SkyNook transforms the back row into a semi-private space, giving passengers more room, privacy, and a relaxed seating experience. This innovative design could change how travelers feel about flying economy, especially on long-haul flights.
