Air India Express has rolled out new uniforms for its cabin crew, airport services, aviation security and flight operations teams across its global network. The new collection brings India’s rich textile heritage into the airline’s everyday passenger experience.
The designs draw inspiration from five traditional crafts: Kanjeevaram from Tamil Nadu, Pattu from Himachal Pradesh, Patola from Gujarat, Gamosa from Assam and Bagh from Madhya Pradesh. These influences have been incorporated into contemporary silhouettes rather than traditional garments.
The uniforms feature the airline’s Xpress Blue and Xpress Orange colours, with kurti-inspired designs, tailored jackets, scarves and pocket squares. Banana crepe fabric has been selected for comfort, breathability and durability, helping the outfits meet the practical demands of frontline airline staff.
The new collection extends Air India Express’ “Tales of India” identity beyond aircraft tail designs and into airports and the cabin. The rollout is part of the airline’s wider brand transformation, combining modern airline workwear with India’s cultural traditions.
