Air India is facing a lawsuit in London filed by the estates and relatives of the victims of the June 2025 passenger jet crash, which claimed 260 lives. The legal action comes months after the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad, resulting in one survivor and 19 fatalities on the ground.

The flight was bound for London’s Gatwick Airport. Seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad, the aircraft lost altitude and exploded, hitting a medical college hostel.
⚖ Lawsuit Against Air India
On December 18, 11 claimants filed a personal injury lawsuit at the London High Court against Air India. The airline has not yet issued a statement regarding the case.

Separately, in the United States, families of four passengers are suing Boeing and Honeywell, alleging the crash was caused by faulty fuel switches. The case was filed in September 2025.
