Air India has joined hands with leading global carriers including Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, British Airways, and Etihad Airways to introduce new water runways in India. The initiative aims to transform domestic tourism and regional air connectivity through the use of amphibious aircraft capable of operating on both land and water.
The upcoming seaplane services will allow direct access to India’s remote coastal regions, islands, and backwaters, reducing dependence on congested airports and long road journeys. This development is expected to open up some of India’s most scenic yet hard-to-reach destinations to travelers.
