Air India has officially welcomed its second Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner as part of the airline’s ongoing fleet expansion and modernization plans. The newly delivered aircraft carries registration VT-AWB and is powered by two GEnx engines.

The brand-new Dreamliner is just 0.1 years old and features a total seating capacity of 296 passengers across three cabin classes. The aircraft includes 30 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 238 Economy Class seats.

The Boeing 787-9 is expected to strengthen Air India’s long-haul international operations with improved fuel efficiency, passenger comfort, and modern cabin features. The delivery is part of the airline’s broader transformation strategy following its major aircraft orders in recent years.

With the addition of VT-AWB, Air India continues expanding its next-generation widebody fleet to support growing demand across domestic and international routes.
