Air New Zealand Launches Skynest Economy Beds.

Air New Zealand is set to introduce its innovative “Skynest” lie-flat sleep pods for economy passengers, marking a global first in commercial aviation. The airline confirmed bookings will open from May 18, with services expected to begin in November.

The Skynest concept features six bunk-style pods designed specifically for economy and premium economy travelers on ultra long-haul routes. These pods will offer passengers a dedicated space to rest, significantly improving comfort during extended flights.

Priced at under $500 per session, the offering aims to make lie-flat rest more accessible beyond business class. Each pod is designed to provide privacy and a comfortable sleeping environment, redefining long-haul travel experience.

This move highlights Air New Zealand’s focus on innovation and passenger well-being, potentially setting a new benchmark for economy class travel worldwide.
