Collins Aerospace Reinvents Last Row Economy Seating.

Collins Aerospace has introduced an innovative concept called “Skynook” to transform the least desirable seats in economy class into a more private and comfortable space. The concept was unveiled at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2026.

Traditionally, the last row of economy is considered the worst due to noise, limited recline, and proximity to lavatories. However, Skynook uses the natural fuselage shape of widebody aircraft to create additional usable space, offering a more relaxed seating experience.

The design includes a privacy door and extra storage space between the window seat and aircraft wall. This area can be used for personal items, baby seats, or even small service animals, enhancing passenger convenience on long-haul flights.

This concept highlights how airlines and manufacturers are rethinking cabin design to improve passenger comfort, even in economy class, by maximizing unused space and introducing privacy-focused solutions.
