Airbus, the renowned French aircraft manufacturer, is set to establish a helicopter manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh as part of its efforts to expand its operations in India. The facility will focus on producing the H125, a single-engine helicopter designed to meet the growing demand in the domestic market while also paving the way for increased exports in the future.

Andhra Pradesh has been selected for this significant project due to its strategic advantages, including access to a skilled workforce, necessary infrastructure, and support from the state government. Proposals have already been submitted to allocate suitable land for the manufacturing unit, with attention to critical factors such as incentives, land availability, and the development of skilled human resources.

The H125, capable of carrying up to six people, is designed for various applications, including tourism, border patrol, and disaster relief operations. With a top speed of 289 km/h, the helicopter is also well-suited for high-speed operations in challenging environments. This venture is expected to enhance India’s manufacturing capabilities in the aerospace sector, contributing to both the local economy and the country’s growing aviation industry.
