Albany Airport Handles Three Newark Diversions

Albany International Airport successfully handled three international flights diverted from Newark Airport during a ground stop, putting months of emergency planning and coordination into action.

Airport Operations, Security, Fire Department, Maintenance teams, United Airlines/Unifi, Million Air and U.S. Customs and Border Protection worked together to safely accommodate the diverted aircraft and assist hundreds of international passengers.

The coordinated response allowed passengers to arrive in Albany, complete Customs procedures and continue their journeys. The operation highlighted the importance of strong teamwork and preparation during unexpected flight disruptions.
