Delhi Police detained Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka directly from an Air India flight after it landed at Delhi’s IGI Airport on October 10. A heated exchange followed as Dipke questioned the police action and demanded to know why officers had entered the aircraft before passengers disembarked.
The leaders were travelling from Mumbai for a planned protest at Jantar Mantar demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation over alleged electoral-roll irregularities. Videos showed the leaders raising slogans and Dipke challenging officers to arrest him.
