The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has instructed the upcoming Noida International Airport to allow telecom operators to deploy in-building network infrastructure through a fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory process. The move aims to prevent disputes like those seen at Navi Mumbai Airport and ensure seamless connectivity for passengers.
1. Equal Access For All Telcos
DoT has asked the airport to provide telecom companies a level playing field for installing mobile network infrastructure inside the terminal.
2. Public Entity Under Telecom Act
The ministry clarified that Noida International Airport falls under the Telecommunications Act, making it mandatory to follow fair access rules.
3. Avoiding Navi Mumbai-Type Dispute
The directive is meant to prevent conflicts between airport operators and telecom providers over network deployment rights.
4. Better Connectivity For Passengers
Early infrastructure setup will help ensure strong mobile signals, faster data speeds, and uninterrupted digital services at the airport.
5. Transparent Deployment Process
Authorities have emphasised a clear policy framework so that all telecom players can participate without discrimination.
