Etihad expands network with six new routes.

Etihad Airways has announced a significant expansion of its African network, adding six new destinations across Eritrea, Ghana, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The move further strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a major global aviation hub and one of the world’s safest cities.

The new routes will operate from Zayed International Airport, with services set to launch progressively between November 2026 and March 2027. This expansion reflects Etihad’s strategy to tap into growing demand for both passenger travel and cargo connectivity across emerging markets.

According to the airline, the addition of these destinations will enhance links between Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, offering improved connectivity for business, tourism, and trade. The routes are also expected to support economic ties and provide more travel options for customers across the regions.

With this latest development, Etihad continues to rebuild and expand its global network, reinforcing its role in connecting underserved markets while boosting Abu Dhabi’s standing as a key intercontinental gateway.
