A Chinese family of three reportedly had their plans to move to the United States disrupted after the father allegedly assaulted another passenger during a flight from Shanghai to Los Angeles on August 28, 2026. Reports said the family was traveling on immigrant visas to settle in the U.S.

According to reports circulating in Chinese-language media, the family’s young son repeatedly disturbed a nearby passenger during the long-haul flight, including allegedly kicking the seat for an extended period. The passenger reportedly asked the father several times to control the child, after which an argument developed.

The confrontation allegedly escalated when the father grabbed and struck the passenger. Cabin crew intervened, separated the two men and reportedly notified authorities on the ground while the aircraft was still airborne.

After the aircraft landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), U.S. authorities reportedly boarded the aircraft and took the father into custody. Reports further claimed that the family’s U.S. visas were cancelled and that all three were subsequently returned to China.

However, official confirmation from the airline, CBP or FBI has not been publicly reported, and some details remain based on Chinese media and social-media reports
