IndiGo has launched direct flights between Guwahati and Bangkok, marking a major milestone in international air connectivity for Northeast India. The airline’s first international service from Guwahati commenced with a special inaugural flight on October 27, 2026.
Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport celebrated the launch with a ceremonial lamp lighting, boarding pass handover and an inauguration event attended by airport officials, airline representatives and other stakeholders.
Following the inaugural service, the Guwahati–Bangkok route is scheduled to operate twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from October 31. Flight 6E 1085 will depart Guwahati at 6:15 p.m. and arrive in Bangkok at 10:45 p.m. local time. The return service, 6E 1086, will leave Bangkok at 8:50 a.m. and reach Guwahati at 10:25 a.m.
The new nonstop connection is expected to support tourism, trade and business travel between Northeast India and Thailand. It will also offer passengers a more convenient alternative to travelling through major Indian cities to reach Bangkok.
The launch builds on Guwahati’s expanding international network, following the introduction of services to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The new Bangkok connection further strengthens the city’s role as an international gateway for Northeast India.
