JetBlue has unveiled a special Airbus A320 livery celebrating the Dominican Republic, marking the airline’s first aircraft design dedicated entirely to an international destination. Named Quisqueya la Bluebella, the aircraft was officially introduced at Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, highlighting JetBlue’s strong ties with one of its most important international markets.
The vibrant design was created by renowned Dominican artist Willy Gómez and features a mix of street-art influences and iconic national symbols. The artwork includes the Dominican Republic’s national bird, the Cigüa Palmera, alongside landmarks such as the Alcázar de Colón, traditional musical instruments, and the popular dominoes game, all reflecting the country’s rich culture and heritage.
The final livery was selected through public voting earlier this year as part of JetBlue’s RD Orgullo que Eleva campaign. The initiative invited the Dominican community to choose from three unique artistic concepts, making the aircraft a symbol of national pride and community engagement.
JetBlue continues to be the largest airline serving the Dominican Republic and is expected to operate an average of 45 daily flights to and from the country this summer. The carrier is also expanding its network presence by adding new daily frequencies between Fort Lauderdale and both Santo Domingo and Santiago from July 9, further strengthening connectivity between the United States and the Caribbean nation.
