Kenya Airways Cargo Flies 50+ Cows from Nairobi to Lagos.

Kenya Airways Cargo has completed an unusual charter operation, transporting more than 50 cows from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos, Nigeria, after a customer booked a dedicated flight for the livestock shipment.

The airline announced the operation on October 27, 2026, showcasing the flexibility of its specialised cargo services and its ability to handle unconventional freight requirements.

Adding a touch of humour, Kenya Airways described the animals as “VIP cattle” heading to greener pastures, while praising its KQ Cargo team and the stakeholders who coordinated the operation.

The airline has not publicly disclosed the customer’s identity, aircraft type or further shipment details. Nevertheless, the charter highlights the role of air cargo in meeting specialised commercial transport needs across Africa, including the movement of livestock over long distances.
