Lufthansa Technik Extends Japan Airlines 787 Support Deal.

Lufthansa Technik and Japan Airlines (JAL) have renewed their Total Component Support (TCS) agreement for JAL’s Boeing 787 fleet. Signed at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore, the extended agreement will run for at least five more years and, at the latest, through 2036, covering up to 67 Boeing 787 aircraft.

Under the renewed agreement, Lufthansa Technik will provide component maintenance, reliability management and logistics services. JAL will also have access to Lufthansa Technik’s global spare-parts pool, supporting the long-term reliability of its Dreamliner fleet.

The companies have also signed a new five-year contract covering exclusive support for the Boeing 787’s GEnx-1B engine thrust reversers and inlet cowls. Spare and repair services under this agreement will be handled by Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen (LTS).

The partnership between Lufthansa Technik and JAL dates back nearly 20 years, with the first Boeing 787 TCS agreement signed in 2011. Their cooperation later expanded to JAL’s Airbus A350 fleet, including component support and APU MRO services.
