A Mumbai woman recently shared a heartfelt post, expressing her gratitude to IndiGo Airlines for making her wheelchair-bound daughter’s flight journey remarkably stress-free. Monisha took to social media to praise the airline for the exceptional care and support provided during a recent trip, which made traveling with her daughter, Keya, far easier than previous experiences.
Keya, 14, has been living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a rare genetic condition that progressively affects mobility. Diagnosed when she was just 10 months old, Keya’s condition has led to 80% physical disability, making her day-to-day life increasingly challenging. This has been especially true after undergoing complex spine correction surgery in 2022, which, while necessary to help her retain basic functions like sitting and breathing, added further complexities to her care.
“Traveling with my wheelchair-bound daughter, Keya, has never been easy,” Monisha shared. “Over the years, her mobility has progressively declined due to SMA, which was diagnosed when she was an infant.”
Despite these hurdles, Monisha has always embraced travel as an “adventure,” one that requires meticulous planning and prayer to ensure Keya’s safety and comfort. However, past trips have not been without their struggles, from damaged wheelchairs to health scares, with each journey leaving its own set of memories.
But during a recent three-city trip with IndiGo Airlines, Monisha encountered something different—a smooth, hassle-free experience that exceeded her expectations. The credit, she said, goes to the exceptional efforts of IndiGo staff, particularly Pratik Arjun Sen, who ensured that every aspect of their journey went smoothly.
“This is a gratitude post for the amazingly seamless experience we had flying with IndiGo,” Monisha wrote. “Pratik ensured we faced no hurdles at any stage of the journey, and for the first time, everything went as planned.”
Thanks to Pratik’s thoughtful and diligent assistance, Monisha and Keya were able to enjoy a stress-free flight, without worrying about the usual challenges that come with traveling with a child who has complex medical needs. The airline’s attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile were evident in every step of the journey, from check-in to boarding.
Monisha’s post has since garnered a lot of attention, with many praising IndiGo’s dedication to providing accessible and compassionate service to passengers with special needs. For Monisha and Keya, this trip marked a turning point, proving that with the right support, travel can be a smooth and enjoyable experience.
