Palm Beach Airport To Be Renamed After Trump.

Palm Beach International Airport is set to be renamed “President Donald J. Trump International Airport” following new legislation signed by Ron DeSantis. The law transfers airport-naming authority to the state, clearing the way for the airport in West Palm Beach, located near Mar-a-Lago, to adopt the new name.

The renaming process is expected to move forward in July after final approvals and local implementation measures are completed. While the airport’s ownership, daily operations, and passenger services will remain unchanged, the new branding is expected to require updates to signage, official documents, and airport materials.

The proposal has also raised unusual legal and trademark questions. Reports indicate that Trump-affiliated entities have filed trademarks related to the airport name, while Palm Beach County was required to approve agreements allowing the use of the new branding. These factors have added complexity to the renaming process.

Supporters have described the move as a recognition of Donald Trump’s strong ties to Florida and the Palm Beach area. Critics, however, argue that the decision reduces local control and could result in millions of dollars in rebranding costs. The renaming has attracted national attention as one of the few major commercial airports to be named after a sitting U.S. president whose personal brand is closely linked to the airport’s new identity.
