Singapore Airlines Cargo 747 Diverted After Smoke Warning.

A Singapore Airlines Cargo Boeing 747 freighter operating flight SQ7108 was diverted to Bali, Indonesia, after its onboard fire detection system indicated possible smoke in the cargo hold.

The aircraft was carrying approximately 2,186 live animals from Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Following its landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport, emergency crews inspected the aircraft but found no signs of fire, smoke or excessive heat.

An aviation report suggested that gases and manure produced by the animals may have triggered the smoke warning. The unusual explanation quickly went viral, with headlines joking that animal gas had forced the jumbo jet to make an emergency diversion.
