TAROM Receives First Boeing 737-8.

Romanian flag carrier TAROM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-8, registered YR-BGO, introducing the 737 MAX family to its fleet on September 12, 2026. The aircraft was leased from CDB Aviation and named “Mircea Lucescu.”

The aircraft is the first of two 737-8s to be supplied by CDB Aviation, while TAROM plans to operate four Boeing 737-8 aircraft overall. The new jets are part of the airline’s fleet modernization and restructuring programme.

TAROM will deploy the aircraft on European routes from Bucharest, including services to major destinations such as Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid and Cluj. The 737-8 is expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and enhance the passenger experience.
