At Aero India 2025, Tata Elxsi made a major contribution to India’s defense sector by handing over the prototype of the CATS Warrior Loyal Wingman to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). This advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed to operate alongside manned fighter jets, enhancing operational capabilities in complex defense missions.
The CATS Warrior is part of the Collaborative Autonomous Taxiing System (CATS) project, aimed at revolutionizing modern aerial warfare with autonomous drone technology. Its delivery to HAL is a milestone in India’s quest for cutting-edge defense technologies, showcasing India’s growing capabilities in UAV development.
The prototype marks a significant step in strengthening the Indian Air Force’s capabilities, enabling faster response times, superior surveillance, and support for manned combat aircraft in combat zones. With this handover, Tata Elxsi and HAL aim to pave the way for further advancements in AI-powered autonomous defense solutions.
Aero India 2025 highlighted this achievement, underscoring India’s growing defense innovation and self-reliance in military technology, in line with the government’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision.
