Thousands of passengers across Asia were left stranded today after widespread flight delays and cancellations hit major airports in multiple countries. A total of 4,797 flights were delayed and 431 cancelled, severely impacting airline operations and travel plans across Japan, China, India, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
Japan Faces Maximum Impact:
Tokyo Haneda emerged as the worst-affected airport with 841 delays and 151 cancellations. Narita reported 382 delays and 10 cancellations, while Osaka saw 228 delays and 44 cancellations.
Southeast Asia Airports Hit Hard:
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi recorded 477 delays and 4 cancellations. Jakarta Soekarno–Hatta faced 395 delays and 5 cancellations, while Manila and other regional hubs also reported operational disruptions.
India & Middle East Affected:
Delhi IGI Airport witnessed 453 delays and 3 cancellations. Dubai International saw 261 delays and 1 cancellation, impacting major international connections.
China & Turkey See Significant Delays:
Urumqi Diwopu Airport reported 311 delays and 11 cancellations, while Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen recorded 223 delays and 2 cancellations.
Airlines Disrupted:
Operations of Japan Airlines, ANA, Thai Airways, IndiGo, Air China, and several other carriers were affected due to cascading delays across hubs.
