A Virgin Atlantic flight from Bengaluru to London, carrying around 270 passengers, returned to Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday after developing a technical issue shortly after take-off. Flight VS317 departed at around 8:20 am and circled near Tumakuru for more than 30 minutes before turning back.
The Boeing 787-9 landed safely in Bengaluru as a precaution, with all passengers reported safe. Virgin Atlantic said the flight was subsequently cancelled, while the airline’s teams worked to support and rebook affected passengers. The exact nature of the technical issue has not been disclosed.
