A Beechcraft BE30 turboprop aircraft carrying 11 people crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday afternoon, but all passengers and crew survived after a major rescue operation led by U.S. and Bahamian authorities.

According to reports from the U.S. Coast Guard, the twin-engine aircraft had departed from Marsh Harbour Airport in the Bahamas and was heading toward Grand Bahama International Airport in Freeport. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot declared an emergency before communication with air traffic control was lost. The aircraft later went down in the Atlantic Ocean, nearly 80 miles east of Melbourne, Florida.

At the time of the incident, severe weather conditions including thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible hail were reported in the area. Rescue teams from multiple agencies responded quickly, including the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, and the U.S. Air Force 920th Rescue Wing based at Patrick Space Force Base.

All 11 occupants were successfully rescued from the water and airlifted by military helicopters to Melbourne Orlando International Airport, where medical teams provided immediate treatment and evaluation. Authorities have confirmed that investigations into the cause of the crash are now underway by both the Federal Aviation Administration and the Bahamas Air Accident Investigation Authority.
