Mumbai Airport has expanded its Hybrid Self-Baggage Drop facility at Terminal 2 with the addition of 14 new counters dedicated to Air India passengers. The expansion increases the total number of self-baggage drop counters at the airport to 28, enhancing passenger convenience and streamlining the departure process.
The newly inaugurated counters are located at Island B in Terminal 2 and are designed to offer greater operational flexibility. The system can seamlessly switch between self-service and agent-assisted modes, enabling airport staff to efficiently manage passenger flow during peak travel periods while providing assistance whenever needed.
Using the Hybrid Self-Baggage Drop facility, Air India passengers can scan their boarding pass, print and attach baggage tags, place their luggage on the conveyor belt, and complete the baggage drop process independently before proceeding to security checks.
The expansion is part of Mumbai Airport’s ongoing efforts to improve the passenger experience through technology-driven solutions. By reducing wait times and simplifying check-in procedures, the airport aims to deliver a faster and more seamless journey for travelers.
