Navi Mumbai International Airport has officially entered the global aviation map by launching its first-ever international flight, marking a historic milestone for India’s newest international airport.
The inaugural service was operated by Air India Express, connecting Navi Mumbai directly with Abu Dhabi using a modern Boeing 737 MAX. The aircraft received a traditional water salute before departure, celebrating the beginning of international operations from the airport.
The launch is expected to significantly improve international connectivity for passengers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region while reducing pressure on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, one of India’s busiest airports.
Officials believe the new airport will play a vital role in supporting India’s rapidly growing aviation sector by increasing passenger capacity, expanding airline networks, and creating new opportunities for tourism, trade, and business travel. The successful launch marks the start of a new chapter for Navi Mumbai International Airport as it prepares to welcome more international airlines and destinations in the coming months.
