A dedicated team of 48 volunteers at the Selfridge Military Air Museum has successfully restored a historic FG-1D Corsair, bringing the iconic warbird back to its former glory after years of painstaking work.
The restoration project required an extraordinary 35,000 man-hours and nearly a decade of effort. Volunteers faced numerous technical and preservation challenges while carefully rebuilding and refurbishing the aircraft.
