Southwest Airlines is investigating an incident involving two of its Boeing 737 aircraft after they made contact on the ground at Rhode Island’s T.F. Green International Airport in Warwick on Thursday night.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the wing of Southwest Flight 3515 struck the tail of Southwest Flight 3409 at around 10:45 p.m. while one aircraft was pushing back from the gate and the other was moving toward the taxiway. The flights were scheduled to operate to Washington Reagan National Airport and Chicago Midway Airport respectively.

Passengers onboard reported feeling the impact and alerted cabin crew before the aircraft came to a stop. No injuries were reported, although both flights were canceled and passengers were deplaned after the incident.

Southwest Airlines confirmed it is aware of the event and has launched an investigation. Both Boeing 737 aircraft have been removed from service and will undergo detailed inspections to assess any damage before returning to operations.
