American Airlines is strengthening its presence in Venezuela with the launch of daily nonstop flights between Miami and Maracaibo starting July 14. The new service will make American the only U.S. carrier offering direct flights to Venezuela’s second-largest city.

The route will be operated by Embraer 175 aircraft and follows the airline’s recent return to Venezuela after a seven-year absence. American resumed Miami–Caracas flights on April 30 and has already expanded that service to twice daily.

The expansion provides greater connectivity for the large Venezuelan community in South Florida while supporting business and family travel between Miami and Venezuela’s key commercial centers. Before suspending operations in 2019, American was the largest U.S. airline serving the country.

With Caracas and Maracaibo now part of its network, American Airlines is rebuilding one of the most important air links between the United States and Venezuela in nearly a decade.
