Air Europa has taken delivery of a new Air Europa Boeing 737 MAX 8 after the aircraft completed an impressive nonstop journey from Seattle to Madrid. The aircraft departed from Boeing Field and crossed the North Atlantic before landing at Madrid Barajas Airport.

The delivery flight covered nearly 3,873 nautical miles in around eight and a half hours, making it one of the longest ferry flights ever recorded for a Boeing 737 MAX 8. Aviation enthusiasts and industry experts closely followed the aircraft’s route due to the unusual distance covered by the narrow-body jet.

Under normal operating conditions, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 is designed for a range of approximately 3,550 nautical miles. However, delivery flights are typically conducted with lighter payloads and can benefit from strong jet stream winds, allowing aircraft to travel farther than standard commercial operations.

The new aircraft is part of Air Europa’s ongoing fleet modernization programme aimed at improving efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. The airline continues expanding its modern fleet as it strengthens operations from Madrid and across its international network.
