Akasa Air is set to expand its fleet to 30 aircraft by July, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s growth trajectory. Speaking about the airline’s expansion plans, CEO Vinay Dube confirmed that the 28th Boeing 737 MAX is expected to be inducted later this month, signaling steady progress despite earlier setbacks due to delayed aircraft deliveries.

The budget carrier, which commenced operations in August 2022, has been steadily increasing its domestic footprint while also preparing to ramp up its international services. Dube noted that while supply chain disruptions had slowed the delivery timeline, Akasa remains committed to its original fleet growth strategy and is optimistic about future scaling.

The addition of more aircraft is expected to enhance Akasa’s route flexibility, increase frequency on popular domestic sectors, and support its expanding international ambitions. With 30 aircraft, the airline will be better positioned to compete with other low-cost carriers in India’s dynamic aviation market.

Akasa Air’s fleet consists entirely of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, known for their fuel efficiency and lower emissions—an alignment with the airline’s sustainability goals. The upcoming additions are also expected to create new employment opportunities across flight operations, maintenance, and ground services.

As the airline crosses key fleet milestones, it continues to emphasize reliable service, customer experience, and operational efficiency, reinforcing its long-term commitment to becoming a major player in the Indian aviation industry.
