Avelo Airlines Launches New Dallas-Area Base.

Avelo Airlines has announced it will launch commercial passenger service from McKinney National Airport, making the Dallas region a three-airport market. The airline will become Collin County’s first hometown carrier when operations begin on November 11, 2026.

Avelo will offer nonstop flights to Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa using Boeing 737-800 aircraft configured with 184 seats.

The launch coincides with the opening of a new 46,000-square-foot passenger terminal at the airport, now identified by the passenger code DTX. Avelo also plans to base two aircraft at the new facility.

The expansion is expected to generate more than 100 local jobs, including positions for pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance personnel, while providing travelers in North Texas with a convenient alternative to the region’s larger airports.
