A Delta Air Lines Airbus A350-941 collided with an Air Canada Boeing 777-233LR while the two widebody aircraft were being maneuvered on the ground at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The incident occurred near Terminal 6, where the Delta A350’s left wingtip reportedly struck the right horizontal stabilizer of the Air Canada 777. Both aircraft sustained visible damage in the contact.
The Air Canada aircraft, registered C-FIVK, had arrived from Toronto on flight AC785 and was scheduled to operate the return service to Toronto. The aircraft was taken out of service for inspection and repairs, affecting its scheduled operation.
No injuries have been reported. The airlines and relevant authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the ground collision.
The incident follows another Delta A350 ground collision at Atlanta in 2023, when a Delta A350 struck the tail of an Endeavor Air CRJ-900 while taxiing.
