An IndiGo passenger has shared details of a stressful travel experience after a flight from Amritsar to Delhi was forced to make an emergency diversion to Jaipur due to severe weather conditions early Monday morning.
According to the passenger, the aircraft landed in Jaipur at around 3:30 AM after encountering poor weather while approaching Delhi. The difficult landing and extended wait inside the aircraft reportedly created an emotionally overwhelming situation for several travelers onboard.
The passenger stated that assistance from Jaipur Police was sought during the incident, with authorities reportedly providing support and helping manage the situation at the airport. Family members of the traveler also contacted airport officials and senior airline staff to request assistance and explain the urgency of the matter.
After multiple discussions with airline representatives, the passenger was eventually allowed to disembark following a long delay. Baggage was reportedly returned to passengers at Jaipur Airport around 6:00 AM, after which the traveler continued the journey to Delhi by taxi and later confirmed reaching safely.
The incident highlights the operational and passenger challenges airlines face during severe weather disruptions, especially when flights are diverted unexpectedly during late-night operations.
