A video showing an Indian family enjoying a homemade meal aboard an IndiGo flight has gone viral on social media, sparking a debate over passenger etiquette and civic sense.
The family was seen carrying foods such as dhokla and thepla and serving the meal to other members during the flight. Some passengers were also seen moving around the cabin while the food was being served, while a large bag was reportedly used to collect used cutlery.
The video was shared on X with the caption “Desi families while travelling core” and received mixed reactions. Some users criticised the family over the commotion and possible food odour, while others defended them, pointing out that passengers can generally carry food onboard and that eating homemade food does not automatically violate airline rules.
The incident has sparked discussion about balancing passenger freedom with consideration for fellow travellers during flights.
